5 Fun Facts About Bunnies 🐰

These fluffy little creatures are full of surprises, and learning about them makes the drawing experience even more fun—especially for kids who love animals.

  1. A group of bunnies is called a fluffle.
Yes, seriously—a fluffle! The term is often used in parts of Canada, and it couldn’t be more fitting. Picture a snuggly pile of bunnies all huddled together… it’s the very definition of cuteness. It’s also a great word to toss around when showing off your drawing skills: “Check out this fluffle I just drew!”
  2. Bunnies can hop up to three feet in the air.
They may be small, but they’re surprisingly athletic. When startled or excited, a bunny can leap vertically up to three feet and even farther horizontally. If you’ve ever seen a bunny sprint and hop around a yard, you know they’ve got serious spring in those legs. It’s no wonder they’re often associated with energy and playfulness.
  3. Their teeth never stop growing.
One of the coolest (and most unusual) things about rabbits is that their teeth grow continuously throughout their lives—about 3 to 5 inches per year! That’s why they’re always chewing: hay, twigs, toys, you name it. It helps keep their teeth worn down and healthy. When you’re drawing a bunny, think about adding a little carrot or a leafy snack to give your sketch some personality!
  4. Bunnies “binky” when they’re happy.
This might just be the cutest behavior on Earth. A “binky” is a joyful hop with a mid-air twist—sort of like a bunny dance move. It usually means your bunny is feeling safe, happy, and maybe even a little silly. It’s a great reminder that animals express joy in their own ways, and it’s super fun to imagine your drawn bunny mid-binky!
  5. Bunnies have nearly 360-degree vision.
Thanks to the placement of their eyes on the sides of their heads, rabbits can see almost all the way around them. They only have a small blind spot directly in front of their nose and right behind their heads. This wide range of vision helps them stay alert for predators. So, next time you draw a bunny, give it those big, round eyes that are always on the lookout!

These fun facts make it even more enjoyable to learn how to draw a bunny. You’re not just sketching a cute animal—you’re capturing a little piece of nature’s magic. Kids love discovering these quirky traits, and it can even spark curiosity about wildlife and animal care.
