Drawing zentangles is a relaxing, fun, and easy-to-learn art form that all ages can learn. Zen is defined as a Japanese school of Mahayana Buddhism emphasizing the value of meditation and intuition. Creating zentangles is often seen as a form of meditation because it relaxes and focuses the artist. Traditional zentangle designs are usually done on small, white squares (tiles) of paper and are usually drawn using black ink. Zentangles use a variety of simple and complex patterns and are usually abstract.
“Tangling” has become an international phenomenon because it has been proven to promote relaxation and decrease stress; it also can decrease depression and anxiety, plus drawing zentangles can also increase attention span and concentration.
