A Brief History of St. Patrick’s Day

Contrary to popular belief, this festive holiday isn’t just about wearing green and hunting for leprechauns – it has a rich cultural and religious significance rooted in the life of St. Patrick himself.

Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, St. Patrick was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. After escaping captivity, he returned to Ireland as a missionary, spreading Christianity and famously using the three-leafed shamrock to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity. Over time, St. Patrick became the patron saint of Ireland, and his feast day on March 17th evolved into the lively celebration we know and love today.

While it originated as a feast day commemorating St. Patrick’s death in the 5th century, it has since evolved into a global celebration of Irish culture, heritage, and, of course, a whole lot of green-themed festivities!

What are Some Benefits of Coloring?

Coloring is not just child’s play – coloring has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels in adults, acting as a form of mindfulness and relaxation. By focusing on the present moment and channeling your creativity onto the page, coloring can transport you to a state of calm and tranquility.

Plus, it’s a fantastic way to unleash your inner artist and express yourself freely without judgment. I have several blog posts discussing the benefits of coloring but I’ve listed 10 amazing benefits for you below:
